About Bonart Glass

 

I first became interested in glasswork while working with my husband at Skywalker Studio in the early 80's.
We worked on a project with other artists creating stained glass windows for George Lucas ranch home.
At that time we were also introduced to glass bending. My husband went on to production work in the
lighting industry (glass) and I helped out from time to time

There was a lot of scrap glass lying around the studio and I decided to try my hand at fusing and slumping lrid glass to give as gifts for the holidays. I received an overwhelming response from friends, family and others. I then continued to create new designs and ways to fuse glass for functional art pieces.

 

 

Each piece is created by choosing color combinations which flow with the design and desired shape of the glass.I truly enjoy each step of working with glass. It is a fascinating process from which I learn something new and exciting with every project.
